Turn off smart guides photoshop?
Hide / Show Guides: Go to View in the menu and select Show and select Guides to toggle hide and show guides.
Turn your Smart Guides on
By default, Smart Guides are on. To make sure they are on, choose View > Show > Smart Guides. For this tutorial, you will also need your rulers visible. Choose View > Rulers to ensure that rulers are on.
Or, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl (Command on Mac) + ; to toggle them on or off. You can also turn “Smart Guides” on or off in the same submenu. Smart guides are contingent guides that only activate when you manipulate elements and objects. They help with symmetry and alignment even if no regular Guides are present.
Press Ctrl (Mac: Command) ; (Semicolon) to show/hide Guides. Press Ctrl (Mac: Command) ' (Apostrophe) to show/hide Grids.
Smart Guides are turned on automatically. Clicking and dragging an object will reveal Smart Guides when the object aligns with other things on the slide. Click and drag an object until alignment guides appear.

You can switch the visibility of guides by checking or unchecking Guides on the Layout tab in the Show group. To remove a guide entirely, right-click the guide along the ruler and choose Remove Guide or Remove All Guides from the context menu .
Choose View > Grids & Guides > Show/Hide Guides.
If you want to turn off the smart guides, you can do that under the View menu or you can use the keyboard shortcut cmd or ctrl + u.

How do I hide the ruler lines?
Click View > Show, then click the checkbox for Boundaries to show boundaries, and Guides to display guides in your working window. To remove or hide the Boundaries and Guides, click View > Show, and clear the checkbox.
OK, Now I know why Guide is grayed out. We need to create a guide, then View => Guide and be checked to turn Guide on or off. If you don't create a Guide, of course the Guide will grayed out.
Click Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > View , and scroll down until you find Smart Guides , then add a shortcut.
And to see what these features look like, I'll go up to the View menu, and notice, you can see that my smart guides are turned on. This command, by the way, has its own keyboard shortcut of Control + U here on the PC or Command + U on the Mac.

- Drag from the horizontal ruler to create a horizontal guide.
Go to View > Show and choose “Grid” to add a grid to your workspace. It will pop up immediately.
